This is a stunning handcrafted salt box armchair made from solid walnut during the reign of Louis XIV by the second half of the 17th century. This piece was originally made to store salt, while today they are mostly used in hall way and entrance to store shoes. Indeed several scratches, dents and a few cracks can be seen here and there due to the age. This piece is overall good condition for its age and for sale as is. Circa date 1680.
