Here is a very nice pair of armchairs made by the end of the 19th century from solid walnut and covered by dark burgundy upholstery, which is estimated to be 5 years old, and in overall good condition. The slight serpentine-shaped seatback is adorned with a detailed crest centering a shell flanked by acanthus leaves and stands upon the large seat in between a pair of simply scrolled padded armrests, all supported by cabriole legs.
