Here is an outstanding armoire handcrafted from solid walnut by the second half of the 18th century during the end of the reign of King Louis XVI and originally from Provence boasting a stunning patina and a exquisite embellishment from the upper frieze centering a pierced-carved medallion underneath the boldly sculpted “Chapeau de Gendarme” cornice to the splendid pair of arched recessed paneled doors and the adorably scrolled pierced apron flanked by cabriole legs on escargot feet. Note the tremendous storage capacity provided by this armoire offering a total of 4 shelves. Hardware is in original condition. Overall good condition. Circa date 1780.
